Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This policy explains what Ringerang LLC ("Ringerang", "we") collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers businesses that use Ringerang, people who call those businesses, and visitors to this website.
Information we collect
From businesses that sign up: the owner's name, mobile number, and email; business details such as name, address, hours, services, prices, and, if provided for phone-carrier registration, the business's legal name and tax ID number; settings; and a record of what you agreed to and when (time, IP address, browser, and the version of these terms). Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
From calendars a business links: if the owner links a calendar (such as Google, iPhone, Outlook, Yahoo, or Jobber), we read when they're busy so the assistant doesn't book over it. For all-day events we also check whether the title says something like "off" or "vacation". We keep only the start and end times, never event names or details, and we store the calendar's private link encrypted. If the owner connects a Google Calendar, we also add each job Ringerang books (the customer's name, phone number, address, issue, and answers to the business's questions) to that calendar, and change or remove it when the job changes. If the owner moves or deletes one of those jobs in Google Calendar, we update ours to match. Removing a calendar on the account's Calendar tab deletes what we kept from it.
About a business's team: if the owner adds team members (people who get call texts, log in, or take after-hours calls on call), their names and mobile numbers, and when each one replied YES or STOP to our texts. We text each one once to say they were added; they get more texts only if they reply YES.
From people who call a business that uses Ringerang: your phone number and caller ID name; what you say on the call, which is converted to text as you speak, and what the assistant says back; details you give, such as your name, address, the reason for your call, your answers to the questions the business asks (for example, how old your furnace is), and appointment times; and whether you agreed to texts or asked not to be texted. Callers are told at the start of each call that the call is transcribed. We do not record or keep the audio of calls.
From website visitors: basic technical information our servers receive with every request (such as IP address and browser type), used for security. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
How we use it
To answer and handle calls for the business; book and manage appointments; send call summaries to the business and, if a caller agreed, confirmations to the caller; process payments; provide support; keep the service secure and prevent abuse and fraud (including checking whether a mobile number is a mobile or internet number, and enforcing one free trial per business); fix mistakes and improve how the assistant handles calls; and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use call content to train AI models.
Who we share it with
The business you called gets the summary and transcript of your call, and the details you gave. We also use service providers that process data for us under contracts: Twilio (phone calls, real-time speech recognition, voice, text messages, and login codes), Anthropic (the AI model that runs the conversation and writes summaries), Stripe (payments), our cloud hosting provider, and Google (fonts, and calendars for businesses that connect a Google Calendar). We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
Text messages
Mobile numbers and text-messaging opt-in information are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Texts are sent only for the purposes described in our Terms. Message frequency varies with call volume. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. We also honor any other reasonable request to stop, such as replying "please don't text me" or saying so on a call.
How long we keep it
Call transcripts, summaries, messages, and text logs are deleted automatically after 365 days. Appointment details are deleted 365 days after the appointment. Unfinished signups are deleted after 90 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require. Records of what someone agreed to, and opt-out lists, are kept as long as needed to prove consent and to keep honoring opt-outs. To enforce one free trial per business, we keep scrambled (one-way hashed) copies of the mobile number, email, phone numbers, business name, and a card identifier from Stripe (never the card number) from each signup, even after other data is deleted. A business can ask us to delete its data sooner, including when it closes its account, except where we must keep something by law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to our admin tools requires a code texted to an approved phone (and can require a second code from an authenticator app), logins and texts are rate-limited, and call transcript links use long random addresses. Anyone who has a transcript link can open it, so businesses shouldn't forward those links. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll notify affected people as the law requires if a breach happens.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to confirm whether we have personal information about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. Indiana residents have these rights under the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, along with the right to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of data, and certain profiling, none of which we do. Residents of other states may have similar rights. Contact us using the details below; we may need to verify your identity, and if you called a business, we may work with that business to respond. We'll answer within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and if we deny your appeal you can contact your state Attorney General. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Ringerang is a service for businesses and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information; if you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and notify businesses by text or email before the changes take effect.
