Terms of Service

Last updated October 22, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between Ringerang LLC ("Ringerang", "we", "us") and the business that signs up ("you"). By checking the box at signup, or by using the service, you agree to them on behalf of your business. Please read section 7 (automatic renewal) and sections 14 to 16 (limits on our liability) carefully.

1. The service

Ringerang is an AI phone receptionist for businesses. It answers calls to a phone number we provide, talks with your callers using artificial intelligence, answers questions from the information you give us, asks callers the questions you set for each type of appointment, books, moves, and cancels appointments on a schedule based on your settings, takes messages, can try to transfer calls to you under the rules you choose, and, if you turn on texts, texts you a summary and transcript link after calls. Every call is also listed in your account. It doesn't quote prices except ones you approve in your settings; when a caller asks about any other price, it tells them you'll give them a quote. We may improve or change features over time; we won't remove a core feature you rely on without notice.

2. Business use only

The service is for businesses, not for personal or household use. You confirm you are at least 18 and have authority to accept these Terms for your business, and that the information you give us (including for phone-carrier registration) is true and kept up to date.

3. What callers are told

Every call starts with the assistant saying that the call is transcribed, and it tells callers the truth if they ask whether it is a person. Some states require these, so they can't be turned off. You agree not to instruct the assistant to say it is a human.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for: the accuracy of your hours, services, service area, prices, and other answers you give us; the questions you set up for callers, and quoting your own prices; showing up for and honoring appointments booked through the service, and checking your call summaries; the work, quotes, and decisions of your business; keeping your call forwarding set up correctly; and following the laws that apply to your business. Tell us promptly about changes (for example new hours or prices) so we can update your settings.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to make outbound marketing calls or texts, to send messages to people who haven't agreed to receive them, to mislead callers, to collect payment card numbers or other highly sensitive information over the phone, including through the questions you set up (for example Social Security, card, or bank numbers, passwords, or dates of birth), or for anything unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent. You may not try to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.

6. AI limitations; not an emergency service

The assistant uses speech recognition and AI. It can mishear people, misunderstand them, or make mistakes, and phone and internet networks and our providers can fail. Ringerang is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for 911. When a caller describes a gas leak, fire, carbon monoxide, or injury, the assistant tells them to get to safety and call 911, but you remain responsible for how your business handles emergencies. We don't guarantee that every call will be answered, understood, transferred, or booked correctly, or that the service will bring you any particular amount of business.

7. Fees, automatic renewal, and cancellation

Price. The current price is shown on our website and at checkout: $199 per month, with 25 calls included each month, then $2 for each counted call after that and $1 for each counted call after 100. Taxes are extra where they apply. The price you agree to at checkout is the price you pay until we change it as described below.

Free trial. New customers get a 14-day free trial. With a free trial, you add a card at signup and nothing is charged during the trial. At least 7 days before the trial ends, we send you a reminder with the date, the amount, and how to cancel: by text if you turned on texts, and by email. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged when it ends for the one-time setup fee (if your plan has one) and your first month, and the subscription then renews monthly. If you cancel during the trial, you aren't charged anything. During a free trial, the receptionist answers up to 150 minutes of calls a day (unless we raise that for you), counted from midnight in your time zone; past that, calls ring your phone until midnight. Paid plans have no daily limit.

One free trial per business. A free trial is for a business that hasn't had Ringerang before. If the mobile number, email, business phone line, transfer number, or card used at signup was already used for a Ringerang account or free trial, the signup doesn't include a free trial and billing starts the day you sign up; the signup page tells you before you pay. Internet phone numbers (such as Google Voice) and prepaid cards can't start a free trial. If we learn only after checkout that your card was already used for a free trial, or is prepaid, we cancel that checkout before anything is charged and you can sign up again without the trial.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription is billed monthly in advance to the payment method you give our payment processor, Stripe, and renews automatically every month until you cancel.

Cancel anytime. You can cancel online: log in at https://ringerang.com/account with your cell number, open Billing, and choose Cancel subscription. You can also cancel by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've already paid for, and service continues until then. Per-call charges for counted calls in that last month are billed when it ends. We don't give refunds or credits for partial months. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund you're entitled to by law.

Per-call charges. Your plan includes a number of calls each monthly billing period (25). Each counted call after that is charged at the per-call price you agreed to at checkout. If your plan has a lower price after a set number of calls in a billing period (currently $1 per call after 100), the calls past that number are charged the lower price. A call is counted when the receptionist handles a conversation with a caller. These calls are not counted: spam and robocalls, wrong numbers, calls under 20 seconds, callers who hang up during the greeting, calls where our system had a problem, calls that ring you because the receptionist is off or paused, and calls during a free trial. Per-call charges are billed at the end of each billing period, together with the next month's subscription, to the same payment method. Your account shows each call as counted or free, and the running total for the period.

Usage alerts and your monthly limit. If you turned on texts, we text you when per-call charges in a billing period pass $50, $100, and every $100 after that. You can set a monthly limit on per-call charges in your account. When charges reach your limit, the receptionist stops answering and calls ring your phone until the next billing period starts or you raise or remove the limit. Calls that are already in progress, or that come in at the same moment, can take charges up to one or two calls past the limit.

Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by text or email before a price increase takes effect, and you can cancel before then.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and we'll let you know. If the subscription stays unpaid, we may pause the AI, in which case calls ring your phone directly, until it's paid.

8. Phone numbers

The phone number we give you is leased from our telecom provider and stays assigned to you while your subscription is active. After your subscription ends we may release it, and it may be reassigned. If you want to keep the number, tell us before you cancel and we'll help you move it to another provider where the carriers allow it.

9. Text messages

Texts to you. Texts are optional. If you check the texts box at signup, or turn texts on in your account, we text the mobile number you give us: call summaries, urgent messages, a monthly report of what your receptionist did (you can turn it off), and account and billing notices. Login codes are texted whenever you ask for one. These texts are part of the service, not marketing. Message frequency varies with your call volume. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, or HELP for help. You can turn texts off or back on in your account. Without texts, every call still shows up in your account. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Texts to your team. If you add people to your team, we text each one once. They get call texts, or heads-up texts when they're on call, only after they reply YES to that text, and they can reply STOP at any time. Only add people who expect to hear from us about your business.

Texts to your callers. When your texting registration is approved, the service may text a caller on your behalf (appointment confirmations, changes, and "we got your message"), but only after that caller says yes on the call. Every caller text names your business and says how to opt out. Anyone who replies STOP or otherwise asks not to be texted is added to an opt-out list and won't be texted again by your number. You authorize us to register your business with the phone carriers for this purpose using the information you provide, and you agree not to ask us to text anyone who hasn't agreed.

10. Your data

Your call records, transcripts, messages, and appointments belong to you. We use them only to provide and support the service, to keep it secure, and to fix and improve how it handles calls, as described in our Privacy Policy. We don't sell them, and we don't use them to train AI models. We delete call records automatically after 365 days, and sooner if you ask. If your customers ask you about their information, we'll help you respond.

11. Service providers

We rely on other companies to run the service, including Twilio (phone calls, speech recognition, voice, and texts), Anthropic (the AI model), Stripe (payments), and our hosting provider. Outages or changes at those providers can affect the service.

12. Suspension

We may suspend the service, after notice when practical, if payment is overdue, if your use breaks these Terms or the law, or if it puts the service, the phone network, or other customers at risk.

13. Ending the agreement

You can cancel anytime (see section 7). We can end this agreement with 30 days' notice, or right away for serious or repeated breaches; if we end it without cause, we'll refund any fees you paid for time after the end date. Sections 6, 10, and 14 to 18 continue after the agreement ends.

14. Disclaimer

Except as stated in these Terms, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", and to the extent the law allows we disclaim all other warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

15. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows: (a) neither of us is liable for lost profits, lost jobs or revenue, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages; and (b) our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. These limits don't apply to amounts you owe us, to your obligations under section 16, or to liability that can't be limited by law.

16. Your responsibility for claims

You'll defend and hold us harmless from third-party claims arising from the information you give us, the way you run your business or deal with your customers, or your use of the service in breach of these Terms or the law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, each of us agrees to try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after written notice. Any lawsuit must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, and we both consent to their jurisdiction.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For a material change, we'll notify you by text or email at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you don't agree, you can cancel before then. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept it.

19. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a sale or reorganization of our business. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control.
